SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 654
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Hoover Price
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Hoover Price of Texarkana on April 12, 2025, at the age
  of 95; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Eugene and Mary Price, Hoover Price was
  born in Marietta on July 11, 1929; he completed his early
  education in Floyd County, and he moved to Texarkana following
  high school to take a job as a forklift driver with the Red River
  Army Depot; after leaving to work for W. S. Dickey Clay
  Manufacturing Company for a brief period, he returned to RRAD in
  1967 and eventually retired from the company in 1990; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Price was married to Faye Lavern Price, and he
  took great pride in their three children, Faye, Shelia, and
  Kenneth, as well as his stepson, Anthony; a man of strong faith,
  he attended New Town Baptist Church for a number of years before
  becoming a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where he
  served as a deacon and taught Sunday School; in his leisure
  hours, he enjoyed bush hogging, hunting, and gardening; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Hoover Price
  will remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth and
  compassion, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Hoover Price and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  children, Faye Price-Banton, Shelia Price-Williams, and Kenneth
  Price I and his wife, Doris; to his stepson, Anthony Chapple and
  his wife, Linda; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Hoover Price.
