R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
passing of James Edward Huston of Atlanta on April 6, 2025, at the |
|
age of 95; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Para and Stinson Huston, Jim Huston was |
|
born on October 19, 1929, in Trinity and grew up sharing in the |
|
companionship of his three siblings, Betty Alice, Terry, and Peggy; |
|
he graduated from Trinity High School and continued his education |
|
at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he earned a degree in |
|
forestry; and |
|
WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Army, this patriotic Texan |
|
served his country in Japan during the Korean War and worked in |
|
intelligence; following his military career, he spent three decades |
|
working for International Paper before his retirement in 1985; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Huston enjoyed the love |
|
and affection of his wife, Treaca, and he took great pride in his |
|
daughter, Lisa; with the passing years, he was further blessed with |
|
numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jim Huston lived a life that was rich in personal and |
|
professional achievements, and he will forever be a source of |
|
inspiration to those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Edward Huston and extend |
|
sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Jim Huston. |
