SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 666
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Ernest Johnson Jr.
 
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close on
  April 25, 2025, with the passing of Ernest G. Johnson Jr. of Wake
  Village at the age of 80; and
         WHEREAS, Born on November 11, 1944, Ernest Johnson was the
  son of Ernest Johnson Sr. and Lucille Chumley Day and the stepson
  of Alton Day; this patriotic Texan served his country as a
  radioman in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War; after studying
  math at East Texas A&M University, he enjoyed a long career with
  the IT department at Wadley Regional Medical Center and
  subsequently with BWI Companies; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Johnson shared
  a rewarding marriage with his wife, Vivian, that spanned 52
  years, and he took great pride in his children, Wade and Joanna;
  with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family
  grow to include four grandchildren, Jason, Colby, Austen, and
  Carson, and two great-grandchildren, Steven and Luke; his life
  was further enriched by his beloved dog, Tex; and
         WHEREAS, Sustained by a deep and abiding faith,
  Mr. Johnson was a valued congregant of First Baptist Church of
  Texarkana; in his leisure hours, he pursued a variety of
  hobbies, including camping, jet skiing, and playing ping-pong
  and pool; he was also a talented volleyball and softball player
  in his youth; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Ernest
  Johnson will remember the way he touched their lives with his
  warmth and delightful sense of humor, and he will forever hold a
  treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ernest G.
  Johnson Jr. and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Vivian Johnson; to his children, Wade
  Johnson and his wife, Connie, and Joanna Fore; to his
  grandchildren, Jason Fore and his wife, Lindsey, Colby Fore and
  his wife, Samantha, Austen Wood and his wife, Mackenzie, and
  Carson Wood; to his great-grandchildren, Steven and Luke Fore;
  and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Ernest Johnson.
