SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 672
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Karen Richard
 
         WHEREAS, Karen Anntoinette Richard, a valued member of the
  Texarkana community and a friend to many, passed away on February
  4, 2025, at the age of 59; and
         WHEREAS, The former Karen Holliness was born in San
  Bernardino, California, on October 22, 1965, to Eddie and Mary
  Ann Holliness; a graduate of Centaurus High School in Colorado,
  she earned a business certificate from Front Range Community
  College and a psychology degree and a master of education degree
  from Texas A&M University; she also held teacher certification in
  Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Mrs. Richard served
  as an administrative assistant for the Boeing 777 development
  project and as a workers' comp representative for the Washington
  State Department of Labor & Industries; she also worked as a
  scheduler for the Northwest Wine Company, as a project manager
  for the Franciscan Hospital Foundation, and as a civil
  engineering maintenance scheduler and planner for the U.S.
  Department of Defense; ultimately, she distinguished herself in
  education, teaching in the Liberty-Eylau Independent School
  District and as an adjunct instructor at Texarkana College; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Richard enjoyed the
  love and support of her husband of 30 years, Carl Richard, and
  together, they raised four children, Yvette, Delaney, Garrett,
  and Donovan; an avid reader who never missed an episode of
  Jeopardy!, Mrs. Richard found pleasure in outdoor activities as
  well, including camping, fishing, bicycling, and playing
  softball, and she loved spending time with her dogs, Echo and
  Sandy; and
         WHEREAS, Karen Richard embraced life to the fullest, and
  she will forever remain a vibrant presence for those who knew and
  loved her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Karen
  Anntoinette Richard and extend heartfelt condolences to the
  members of her family: to her husband, Carl Richard; to her
  children, Delaney, Garrett, and Donovan Richard; to her mother,
  Mary Ann Holliness; to her siblings, Shari Searuggs and Randall
  Holliness; to her granddaughter, Evelyn Rose Richard; and to her
  many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Karen Richard.
