Mary Heines |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
passing of Mary Pollard Heines of Tyler on February 12, 2025, at |
|
the age of 92; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of State Senator Tomas G. Pollard Sr. |
|
and Edna Martin Pollard, the former Mary Pollard was born in |
|
Tyler on March 2, 1932, and she grew up on her family's farm with |
|
the companionship of two brothers, Tomas and Jack; she graduated |
|
as valedictorian of Tyler High School in 1949, and she went on to |
|
attend Stephens College; in 1953, she received a degree in radio, |
|
television, and film from The University of Texas at Austin, |
|
where she joined the Chi Omega Sorority; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Heines enjoyed a rewarding career in |
|
commercial real estate that spanned more than 25 years, and she |
|
served as a property manager, leasing agent, and asset manager |
|
for Pollard Heines Buildings; active in her community, she was |
|
involved in the Philanthropic Educational Organization; she was |
|
also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the |
|
Daughters of the Republic of Texas; during her leisure hours, she |
|
found pleasure in gardening, traveling, and playing bridge; and |
|
WHEREAS, Blessed with a devoted family, Ms. Heines took |
|
great pride in her sons, Blair, Martin, and Clinton, and with the |
|
passing years, her family grew to include numerous grandchildren |
|
and a great-grandson; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
|
time will never diminish the joy and love that Mary Heines |
|
brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Pollard |
|
Heines and extend heartfelt sympathy to her family: to her |
|
brother, Jack W. Pollard, and his wife, Janelle; to her sons, |
|
Blair Heines and his wife, Dina, Martin Heines and his wife, |
|
Michelle, and Clinton Heines; to her grandchildren and |
|
great-grandson; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
this day, it do so in memory of Mary Heines. |
