R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Stephanie Nelson is retiring from Liberty-Eylau
  High School in Texarkana in 2025, drawing to a close an exemplary
  tenure with the Liberty-Eylau Independent School District that has
  spanned nearly three decades; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Nelson joined the district as an instructional
  aide in 1997; through the years, she has also worked as a music
  specialist and as a middle school band director, and in her most
  recent role, she has served as the director of music and as the band
  director at Liberty-Eylau High; in recognition of her efforts, she
  was twice nominated for the Music Educator Award from the Recording
  Academy and the GRAMMY Museum, making it to the quarterfinal round
  each time; and
         WHEREAS, An alum of Liberty-Eylau ISD, Ms. Nelson was an
  All-State musician as a student; after graduation, she pursued a
  business degree and worked with computer systems before returning
  to the district as a teacher; the daughter and granddaughter of
  musicians, she has worked to share her love and appreciation for
  music with her students; and
         WHEREAS, Retirement will afford Ms. Nelson more time to spend
  with her family, which includes her daughter and grandson as well as
  her nieces and nephews; she also plans to establish a private lesson
  studio and to judge scholastic competitions; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Stephanie Nelson has
  made a profound and positive difference in the lives of countless
  young Texans, and she may take great pride in her exceptional record
  of achievement as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her
  life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby congratulate Stephanie Nelson on her retirement from the
  Liberty-Eylau Independent School District and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Nelson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  Senate.
