R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The life of a respected religious leader drew to a
  close with the passing of Pastor C. D. Tedford of Brownsboro on
  December 10, 2023, at the age of 88; and
         WHEREAS, The son of John Ennis Tedford and Sara Louise Ray
  Tedford, Carlos Dwain Tedford was born in Opelika on July 13, 1935;
  he grew up with the companionship of four brothers, W. J., Wendell,
  Gena, and Albert; and
         WHEREAS, Brother Tedford served as a pastor in the Assemblies
  of God denomination for more than 25 years, leading congregations
  at several locations, including Zion Hill, Mankin, Lavon, and
  Chandler; he was also employed at Loggins Meat Company in Tyler for
  five years; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Pastor Tedford benefited from
  the love and support of his wife, Billie June, with whom he shared a
  fulfilling union that spanned seven decades; he took great pride in
  his two sons, Larry and David, and with the passing years, his
  treasured family grew to include 5 grandchildren and 10
  great-grandchildren; in his spare time, he enjoyed reading and
  riding his four-wheeler; and
         WHEREAS, Renowned for his honesty and his deep concern for
  others, C. D. Tedford lived a rich and purposeful life centered
  around his faith and his family, and he will long be remembered with
  deep affection by all those who had the good fortune to know him;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby pay tribute to the memory of Pastor C. D. Tedford and extend
  sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Billie
  June Tedford; to his sons, Larry Tedford and his wife, Olivia, and
  David Tedford; to his brother, Albert Don Tedford, and his wife,
  Becky; to his grandchildren, Katie Williams, Drew Tedford, Lauren
  Rinehart, Karli Hetherington, and Madison Bragdon; to his
  great-grandchildren, Cameron and Cole Williams, Alvin, Oliver, and
  Henry Hetherington, Jack and Mary Tedford, and Elizabeth, Eli, and
  Beau Rinehart; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of C. D. Tedford.
