R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Sneaky Cleats Select Softball Club is |
|
|
celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding in 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Based in Tyler, Sneaky Cleats was established in |
|
|
2000 by Anthony and Gayla Springer as a six-and-under girls' T-ball |
|
|
team; the club later made the switch to fast-pitch softball, and |
|
|
today, it encompasses squads in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through its exemplary work as a faith-based |
|
|
organization, Sneaky Cleats has provided instruction to hundreds of |
|
|
young female athletes, helping participants learn the fundamentals |
|
|
of the sport in a safe and competitive environment while fostering |
|
|
such important values as integrity, confidence, and good |
|
|
sportsmanship; dedicated to giving back to the community, the club |
|
|
holds an annual picnic for players and alumni, and its service |
|
|
initiatives include Thanksgiving turkey dinner giveaways, stuffed |
|
|
animal donations to the Tyler Police Department, and winter jacket |
|
|
donation drives for area youth; moreover, the group gives |
|
|
generously to worthy causes in the community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, True to its mission, the Sneaky Cleats Select |
|
|
Softball Club has made a lasting and positive difference in the |
|
|
lives of countless young athletes, and it is indeed a pleasure to |
|
|
honor the organization on this special milestone in its history; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sneaky Cleats Select |
|
|
Softball Club and extend to all those associated with the |
|
|
organization sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Sneaky Cleats as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
