SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, Regular Session, 2025, That Senate Rule 12.03 be |
|
|
suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the |
|
|
conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on |
|
|
Senate Bill 650 (requiring the use of electronically readable |
|
|
information to verify a purchaser's age in the retail sale of |
|
|
alcoholic beverages) to consider and take action on the following |
|
|
matter: |
|
|
Senate Rule 12.03(2) is suspended to permit the committee |
|
|
to omit text not in disagreement in proposed SECTION 2 of the |
|
|
bill, by omitting added Section 109.61(a-1)(1)(A)(i), Alcoholic |
|
|
Beverage Code. The omitted text reads: |
|
|
(i) a package store permit; |
|
|
Explanation: The change is necessary to require the holder |
|
|
of a package store permit to visually inspect and access |
|
|
electronically readable information on a driver's license, |
|
|
commercial driver's license, or other identification certificate |
|
|
for the purpose of verifying a purchaser's age in the retail sale |
|
|
of an alcoholic beverage on the premises of the package store for |
|
|
off-premises consumption. |
