SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the Austin County 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl team for |
|
|
winning the Western National Roundup championship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Austin County 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl team |
|
|
traveled to Denver for the national tournament in January of 2025 |
|
|
and returned with the national championship title; team members |
|
|
devoted considerable time to rigorous training and advanced |
|
|
through district and state contests to qualify for the national |
|
|
level of competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The team includes Bellville High School juniors |
|
|
Katelyn Krenek, Madilyn McCullough, Darcy Luedke, and Katie |
|
|
Schumann; under the leadership and guidance of coaches Janet and |
|
|
Rodney Melnar, these students have developed exceptional |
|
|
teamwork and discipline, and they can take justifiable pride in |
|
|
their outstanding performance; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Additional awards earned by the team's members at |
|
|
the national contest include the champion high point individual |
|
|
for Madilyn McCullough and fourth high point individual for |
|
|
Katelyn Krenek; winning a national championship requires hard |
|
|
work and an unwavering commitment to excellence, and the team is |
|
|
truly deserving of recognition for this outstanding achievement; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate the team members and coaching |
|
|
staff of the Austin County 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl team on |
|
|
winning the Western National Roundup championship and extend to |
|
|
them best wishes for success in all their future endeavors; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
