FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 26, 2025

TO:
Honorable Lacey Hull, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB215 by Guillen (Relating to the payment of support rights and benefits for a childĀ placed with a relative or other designated caregiver.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Department of Family and Protective Services to pass through to the relative or other designated caregiver any support rights attributed to the child and payments to which the child is entitled or that are paid for the benefit of the child.

It is assumed that any costs to the Department of Family and Protective Services and the Office of Attorney General could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
