LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION
Revision 1

April 2, 2025

TO:
Honorable Tom Craddick, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1404 by Harris (relating to the designation of County Road 1250 in Navarro County as part of the state highway system.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Transportation Commission to designate a county road in Navarro County as part of the state highway system.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) reports that the conversion of the county road to a state road on the state highway system would result in an increase to the department's highway maintenance and preservation costs. Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed by reallocating existing resources from other planned highway construction and maintenance projects.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
