It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
There may be a negative fiscal impact to local courts and local juvenile probation departments, but the extent of the impact cannot be determined.
Local juvenile probation departments (JPDs) may need additional probation staff to attend any additional hearings as required by the bill. JPDs may also need increased indigent defense budgets and travel budgets for departments without detention centers.
Local courts may be required to hold additional hearings, held weekly instead of biweekly, which would add to court dockets and general workload.
