HB1794 by Tepper (Relating to the carrying of concealed handguns by handgun license holders on the premises of a polling place on the day of an election or while early voting is in progress.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would provide exception to the applicability of the offense of places weapons prohibited when the location is a polling place on the day of an election or while early voting is in progress and the weapon is a concealed handgun the person is licensed in this state to carry, which behavior is punishable under existing statute as a third degree felony.
It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
