Honorable Cole Hefner, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security, Public Safety & Veterans' Affairs
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB1819 by Lopez, Ray (Relating to the administration of a grant program to support community mental health programs assisting veterans and their families.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is required to implement a provision of the bill only if the Legislature appropriates money specifically for that purpose and in an amount greater than the amount appropriated to HHSC. If the Legislature does not appropriate money specifically for that purpose and in such amount, HHSC may, but is not required to, implement a provision of the bill using other appropriations available for that purpose.
It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
The bill's provisions related to reducing matching requirements for counties of various population sizes may benefit impacted counties but in an amount that cannot be determined at this time.
