Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2070 by Hull (Relating to individuals whose name may be added to the central child abuse or neglect registry.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would prohibit the Department of Family and Protective Services from adding a name to the central registry unless a court of competent jurisdiction enters a final order in a civil, criminal, or juvenile proceeding in which the court finds the individual abused or neglected the child, or if an individual has been found to have abused or neglected a child in certain situations.
It is assumed that any costs to the Office of Court Administration, the State Office of Administrative Hearings and the Department of Family and Protective Services could be absorbed within existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
