IN RE:
HB2747 by Frank (Relating to requiring certain health care entities to submit notice of material change transactions to the attorney general and the attorney general's authority to conduct certain related studies; imposing civil and administrative penalties.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require healthcare entities to provide advance notice to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for material change transactions. The OAG would be permitted to request data from healthcare entities for the purpose of collecting studies on the conditions of Texas healthcare markets.
The OAG would be authorized to collect civil and administrative penalties for noncompliance from healthcare entities.
It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
It is also assumed any revenues generated as a result of civil penalties associated with the bill would not have a significant impact.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
