The bill would authorize a municipality that has a population of at least 9,000 and is wholly located in a county in which the State Capitol is located, and is adjacent to or bisected by State Highway 71, to use municipal hotel occupancy tax revenue for historical restoration and preservation projects or activities or advertising and conducting solicitations and promotional programs to encourage tourists and convention delegates to visit preserved historic sites or museums.
The bill would authorize a municipality that has a population of at least 19,000 and is wholly located in a county in which the State Capitol is located to use municipal hotel occupancy tax revenue for projects related to a recreational facility and for projects relating to an arena used for rodeos, livestock shows, and agricultural expositions.
