No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

The bill would authorize the commissioners court of a county that has a population of more than 125,000, borders the Red River, and has a county seat with a population of more than 100,000 to impose a county hotel occupancy tax, not to exceed 2 percent, for purposes specified by the bill. 

The provisions of the bill would expire September 1, 2030.
