No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, the fee for a certified birth record is $22. The number of counties or child welfare boards that would request a certified birth record under the circumstances described by the bill is unknown; therefore, the revenue impact of the bill cannot be determined.
According to the Department of State Health Services, it is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
The fiscal implications of the bill to units of local government cannot be determined at this time.
