No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the chief appraiser to include in the appraisal district's property tax database for each school district subject to recapture the percentage of local maintenance and operations (M&O) taxes the school district pays for purchasing attendance credits, the percentage of M&O taxes the school district retains, and a statement detailing how local property taxes fund public education and the role of recaptured funds.
