The bill would amend the School Safety Allotment under the Foundation School Program (FSP). The allotment would be increased from $10 per ADA and $15,000 per campus to $20 per ADA and $33,540 per campus.
Methodology
This analysis assumes the cost related to the increase in the School Safety Allotment would be $241.0 million in fiscal year 2026, $241.3 million in fiscal year 2027, decreasing to $200.9 million in fiscal year 2030.
The cost includes an estimated reduction in Recapture Payments of $30.3 million in fiscal year 2026, $39.0 million in fiscal year 2027, decreasing to $37.6 million in fiscal year 2030.
Local Government Impact
This analysis assumes LEAs would receive additional funding for school safety through the FSP under this bill.
