SB315 by Kolkhorst (Relating to a property right in DNA; providing injunctive relief and a civil penalty; creating a criminal offense.), As Engrossed

The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined due to the number of new offenses being unknown.

The bill would amend the Property Code to establish DNA property rights and creates criminal and civil penalties for violations outlined by the bill. 

According to the Office of Court Administration and the Office of the Attorney General, no significant fiscal implications are anticipated to the courts from the provisions of the bill. 

According to the Comptroller's Office, it is assumed that court fee revenue will increase but cannot be estimated due to the number of new offenses being unknown.
