LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION
April 30, 2025
TO:
Honorable Ken King, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB330 by Huffman (Relating to an election to approve a reduction or reallocation of funding or resources for certain county prosecutors' offices.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
There could be a cost to counties related to the election requirement for approving a reduction or reallocation of funding or resources for certain county prosecutor's offices. To the extent a county is found to be in violation of the provisions of the bill, the county would be prohibited from adopting a property tax rate that exceeds the county's no-new-revenue tax rate until the Comptroller's office determines that the county is in compliance with the provisions of the bill.
