SB783 by Menéndez (Relating to certain regulations adopted by governmental entities for the construction or alteration of residential or commercial buildings.), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would add certain energy codes, energy and water conservation design standards, and high performance building standards to the list of exceptions allowed by statute relating to the regulation of  building materials and methods by a national model code.

The bill would also impose certain requirements on the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) relating to amending or adopting the energy efficiency chapter of the International Residential Code.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
