IN RE:
SB974 by Eckhardt (relating to the eligibility of a person employed by a school district as a teacher to serve on the appraisal review board of an appraisal district; creating a criminal offense.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would provide an exception to the prohibition on employees of a taxing authority serving on an appraisal review board by allowing a teacher employed by a school district to serve on an appraisal review board.
It would be a criminal offense for a member of the board of trustees of an independent school district or an employee of the district to communicate with an employee of the school district who serves on an appraisal review board with the intent of influencing a decision by the member in the member's capacity as appraisal review board member.
It is assumed that any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
