Honorable Bryan Hughes, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB1314 by Cook (Relating to a prohibition on certain e-cigarette products.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would expand conduct constituting the Class B misdemeanor offense of prohibited e-cigarette product, committed when a person markets, advertises, sells, or causes to be sold an e-cigarette product intended for use in an e-cigarette in a container with certain visual appeal, to include e-cigarette products containing no nicotine.
While the number of offenses that would be committed is unknown, it is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
