Fiscal Analysis
The bill would allow the chair of the State Board of Education (SBOE) to employ personnel necessary for board duties. Texas Education Agency (TEA) would provide administrative support for these employees.
Methodology
TEA assumes SBOE would hire 5.0 FTEs to implement provisions of the bill at a cost of $0.8 million in fiscal year 2026 and $0.7 million per year in subsequent years.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
