FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 2, 2025

TO:
Honorable Dan Patrick, Lieutenant Governor, Senate

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB2312 by Hughes (Relating to the establishment and powers and duties of the Texas Advisory Committee on Geopolitical Conflict.), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would establish the Texas Advisory Committee on Geopolitical Conflict that would be administratively attached to the Texas Military Department (TMD). The agency indicates they would need 3.0 FTEs to complete the duties of the bill; however, it is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
