LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 89TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 28, 2025

TO:
Honorable Lois W. Kolkhorst, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB2357 by Perry (Relating to a maternal health training program for certain health care providers.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The Department of State Health Services has indicated it would require additional staff resources to oversee the development of the training program, incorporate Texas TRAIN for on-demand continuing education and research, and develop evidence-based protocols for obstetric emergencies.

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
