No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would increase the number of agencies that would be entitled to obtain criminal history record information for certain individuals from the Department of Public Safety (DPS). DPS charges a fingerprinting fee to offset costs associated with criminal history record searches. According to DPS, the bill may create increased revenue related to fingerprinting fees; however, the fiscal impact of the fees is unknown. 

This analysis assumes that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
