TO:
Honorable Pete Flores, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice

IN RE:
SB2785 by Birdwell (relating to notification and disclosure of records and information concerning an investigation of a report of child abuse or neglect to county or district attorneys.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Department of Family and Protective Services, as requested, to immediately notify a county or district attorney upon receipt of a report of suspected abuse or neglect and forward a copy of the records to the county or district attorney.

It is assumed that any costs to the Department of Family and Protective Services and Office of Court Administration could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
