No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.
The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $191,689.
The resolution would provide that an individual accused of certain sexual, violent, and continuous trafficking of persons offenses may be denied bail in certain circumstances.
It is assumed that any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration (OCA), it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the resolution could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
Local Government Impact
According to OCA, the resolution may result in more individuals being detained rather than being released on bail which could increase the cost to local government to incarcerate them. However, any potential cost is currently indeterminate due to lack of data on the estimated number of affected individuals and related detention costs.
