Pursuant to a notice posted on February 28, 2025, the House Committee on Insurance met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Dean, at 8:01 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Dean; Hopper; Morgan; Paul; Spiller; and Wharton.

A quorum was present.

The House Committee on Insurance met for organizational purposes to hear invited testimony from state agencies and subject matters under its jurisdiction.

The chair made opening remarks.

The committee heard testimony from the Texas Department of Insurance.
