Pursuant to a notice posted on April 22, 2026, the House Committee on The July 2025 Flooding Events, General Investigating met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Meyer, at 10:01 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Meyer; Moody; Darby; Dyson; and Gámez.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

 

 

The committee met jointly with the Senate Committee on The July 2025 Flooding Events,

General Investigating.

 

The Chair called the Committee Investigators, Casey Garrett and Michael Massengale, to present a briefing on the July 2025 Flooding Events.

 

At 12:36 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed until 1:36 p.m., April 27, 2026.

 

The committee reconvened at 1:45 p.m. and was called to order by the chair, Representative Meyer.

 

The quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Meyer; Moody; Darby; Dyson; and Gámez.

 

A quorum was present.

 

The Chair called the Committee Investigators, Casey Garrett and Michael Massengale, to answer questions about the July 2025 Flooding Events.

 

At 4:07 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
