Pursuant to a notice posted on February 28, 2025, and permission granted on March 6, 2025, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on S/C on Property Tax Appraisals met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Turner, at 11:50 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Turner; Noble; Bernal; Button; and Capriglione.

A quorum was present.

The Committee met to hear invited testimony about property tax appraisal and the impact of property tax appraisal on public school funding from the following:

Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts

Texas Education Agency

Texas Association of Appraisal Districts

Tax Assessor-Collectors Association

Texas Taxpayers and Research Association

Testimony taken/registration recorded.  (See attached witness list.)

At 3:26 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
