NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Senate Committee on Local Government will meet to adopt committee rules, conduct any organizational matters deemed necessary by the Chair and will consider the following bills:

 

 

SB 4           Bettencourt | et al.    
Relating to an increase in the amount of the exemption of residence homesteads from ad valorem taxation by a school district and the protection of school districts against certain losses in local revenue.

SJR 2          Bettencourt | et al.    
Proposing a constitutional amendment to increase the amount of the exemption of residence homesteads from ad valorem taxation by a school district.

Public Testimony:

 

Oral testimony is limited to 2 minutes. If providing written testimony, please bring 18 copies with your name on each copy to E1.028, and send an electronic copy to ross.leake_sc@senate.texas.gov and jared.yust_sc@senate.texas.gov. All written testimony will be distributed to the Committee Members during or after the hearing. Those registering a position only may do so at any Senate kiosk by the end of the hearing.

 

· Oral testimony: Please use the kiosks outside in the extension hallways.

 

· Oral and written testimony: Please use the kiosks in the extension hallways and submit your written testimony to Committee staff located in E1.028.

 

· Position only: Register using the Senate kiosk located in the extension hallways or by going to http://swrs on public-capitol. Kiosk registration will open at 8 a.m. the morning of the hearing.

 

· Written testimony only: If providing written testimony, please bring 18 copies with your name on each copy to E1.028 and submit to Committee staff, and submit elctronically to ross.leake_sc@senate.texas.gov and jared.yust_sc@senate.texas.gov.
